CVAC Systems and Athercare Partner to
Study the Value of the CVAC Process in a Commercial Fitness and Athletic
Performance-Enhancement Environment
CVAC Systems, Inc. and Athercare
Fitness & Rehabilitation announced their agreement to study
the value of the CVAC process in fitness and athletic performance
enhancement, and to explore this use in a commercial environment.
Nov. 22, 2006-CVAC Systems comes into this agreement
armed with initial scientific data supporting the claim that the
CVAC process enhances physical fitness and relevant data from decades
of published research focused on the benefits of high-altitude
acclimatization and intermittent hypoxia in fitness and athletic
enhancement. “The
training and rehabilitation activities that Athercare is involved
in and their clientele of elite professional and amateur athletes
make it a perfect environment to further our ongoing studies as to
how the CVAC process enhances physical endurance and performance,” said
Allen J. Ruszkowski, President and CEO of CVAC Systems. “We
are excited about this opportunity to explore the viability of this
process and its potential incorporation into fitness-enhancement
programs,” said Donald Chu, PhD., a member of the Strength & Conditioning
Coaches Hall of Fame and Director and Founder of Athercare Fitness
and Rehabilitation.
Athercare represents a re-creation of a clinic successfully operated
by Dr. Chu for more than 20 years, and was opened in October in Castro
Valley. This brand new facility incorporates the latest in technology
with a wide breadth of experience.
Athercare is designed for professional, college and high school
athletes, as well as men and women who are concerned about keeping
healthy and fit. Athercare is also recognized and recommended by
physicians and athletic coaches for those individuals with rehabilitation
and performance training needs.
Dr. Chu, a nationally recognized specialist in
Sports Medicine, has developed an extensive reputation in the field
of sports rehabilitation and in the areas of fitness and conditioning.
He is the author of six books, including "Jumping into Plyometrics" now
in its 2nd edition.
